I managed to source one second-hand 2012 LED headlamp and the other I purchased brand new at a discount from Lexus Birmingham. I've wired The LED headlamps to work just like OEM stock setup (full brightness with lights off, dim mode as soon as sidelights are turned on). The existing black plastic brackets under the headlights need to be changed.

Important information regarding OEM ballast removal:

There seems to be alot of youtube videos and guides out there that instruct you to pry open your headlamp lens just to remove the ballast. I can confirm that this is NOT necessary. Why would Lexus be selling headlamp units without ballasts, if you then had to pry open the sealed lens just to get the ballast installed? The ballast can be transferred simply by removing the internal connector and fishing out the wire. Pictures below.

Wiring it up is simple, I used a 5pin pre-wired automotive 30A relay. +12v fused power goes from ACC/Ignition to the common connection (pin 30). The 100% brightness pin from the headlight LED unit goes to the normally-closed pin (pin 87a). Then +12v power from the side-lights circuit goes to pin 86 which will energise the coil. Pin 85 is ground.  When the ACC/Ignition is on, the 100% brightness pin of the headlight will receive power via pin 30 through pin 87a. When the side-lights are turned on, it will energise the relay coil and break the contact to pin 87a and hence turning off the 100% brightness circuit. At this point the sidelights power source will provide power to the 50% brightness pin. Hope this makes sense. A diagram of the relay pin-out is attached below.

AFS Error light

The original OEM headlights without the LED's have a adaptive front lighting system known as AFS. The new OEM LED versions do not have this system. Therefore, when opting to install these new lights, you will lose the AFS functionality and hence this will result in a blinking AFS light on the instrument cluster telling you of a fault on the AFS. I removed the instrument cluster and blocked out the channel where the light travels through and hence it doesnt show on the instrument cluster. But if you plug in a diagnostics, the AFS ECU will still be reporting AFS error.
